i don't know about those but i just got pioneers TS-A1667's off ebay for 55 a pair brand spanking new, and i think they're even cheaper now ... i'd try and stay away from used speakers

 

i agree w/ the above...a friend of mine is a total audio freak and after several blown amps and speakers he said he will never buy used again...very debateable, but i wouldnt buy used just 2 b on the safe side...however, my two cents (which isnt worth much) is that both brands r overrated and u can get better for the money...do a search, theres a lotta opinions out there, but they do seem to have some consistentcy...i have memphis speakers right now, i think they r awesome, but i believe i coulda done much better if i had found the org 1st....

 

Cerwin Vegas.... stink they are probably worth about $50 and the speakers are eclipse, a popular brand like BOSE, but better, maybe around $100 for the pair tops atleast $50 my friend works at a Custom Car Audio center and he gave me the estimate....

 

Well, I see what you guys are saying.. I rather not buy used either, but I'm just considering it if I can get it at a good price, ossuming the stuff is in good condition, and why shouldn't it be, if the person didn't abuse it?


sportscarboy, from what I heard, Cerwin Vegas are pretty good... why do you say they stink?


If not these speakers..... can anyone reccomend me something for around 180$, front and rear? i just want a reliable speaker with good sound quality, not asking for some competition stuff here thanks..

Between the two you listed, I would get the Eclipse. Eclipse speakers have a pretty nice sound to them. In fact, I was going to get them for my 3rd Gen but wound up getting the Boston Acoustics FX6.

Other speakers you might want to consider:

Boston Acoustics FX6

Get hold of maximadave because he carries all 3.

Get the new 6.5" Cerwins (I forget their model#) Best Buy is clearing them out for $99/pair! A steal! )(I dunno about the 5.25, though) The new Cerwins sound great. Excellent highs, mids & lows. They sound as good as quality home audio speakers. Check out my post here...
