Amp mounted upsidedown

Anyone know of a way to mount an amp upsidedown without the heat damaging it?

It all depends on the amp itself.

Its a Soundstream 700sx. I want to mount it on the trunk lid so that its facing you when you when the trunk is open. So when the trunk is closed and the syatem playing the amp will be upside down. Would a simple fan cooled amp rack be enough to keep the heat down?

Yes you can!

And every brand has designed their amps to have them even upsidedown!

You can do it unless someone tells you different.

i dont know about that mike... rockford fosgate with their pre-2000 amps specifically says to mount them right side up like in my sig... mounting them upside down really messes w/ their cooling system

Thats what i thought too. I was just wondering if anyone knew of a way to keep the amp cool enough so it doesn't get messed up.

Well didn't know about your amp. I've got my Zapco hanged upside down by the competition shop, no problem, never heats up. I've seen many installs like that!

I had a friend who had that done in his 2nd gen years ago, looked pretty cool except for the fact that he had to hold the trunk up to show you
