Cd Player Install

I've got a 1995 Maxima GXE. I want to remove my lackluster tape deck and install a CD player. I'm paranoid about breaking the dash cover plate over the tape deck to get at it. It doesn't seem to pop out very easily. I don't know much about this stuff. To anyone who has done this, is there a trick to removing the cover? Did you have to remove other dash components in order to get at the deck? If anyone can give me a nudge, I would be eternally greatful.

i have a 95 maxima gxe but it doesnte really matter..........n e way.....to remove teh old stereo u need to take off the peice on ur dash where the clock and flashers and rear defrost buttons are at....i used a butter knofe to pop that peice out....but now since ive taken it out so many times i can just use my hands.....then u will need to take out ur ash tray and the platisc peice that goes around the shifter. that peice just pops out....once u have all those peices off u will need a philips screwdriver....there r 5 screws 1 screw is to the left of the ash tray which needs to be removed first.....once u take the ash tray out u will see 2 screws that u need to take out....once u take those screws out go back to the top where ur dash peice with the clock was and ull see 2 screws up there......if u need any more info email me at TommyDMax95@aol.com or send me an instant message TommyDMax95 take it east and i hope this helps you.....

Ok, Next question. Is there anywhere I can find wiring schematics or diagrams for Nissan that show me which wires are for what (speakers, power, dimmer etc.). I know I can figure it out on my own, but I was just curious.

well you can go to your local nissan dealer and ask for them. YOu can also look at your local library. They have books just with schematics for imports and what not

Thanks again folks! Don't ya wish the car manufacturers would get on board with the aftermarket wiring schemes? Or, do all the aftermarket companies differ too? See ya!
