Anyone have a remote starter on a manual tranny?

Looking to have a Clifford AvantGuard installed in my 02 6speed M3. Does anyone have a remote starter on thir manual tranny? Every shop I go to tells me that I need to sign a silly waiver before they even "attempt" an install. Does anyone know a high end car stereo shop in the NYC/LI area?

the reason they want you to sign a waiver is cause the clutch pedal start switch will ahve to be disabled making it possible to start the vehicle without pushing in the clutch which isn't a goodthing to do... if it was an off-road truck then fine you need it incase it stalls when on the rocks and you need to do many things at once but in a car you WANT to keep that... which is why i don't have one yet... plus you will always have to put your car in neutral when you park it...

I have remote start on my manual tranny, but the shop said they wouldn't do anymore because of the risks involved if something went wrong. I use it all the time though.

I do, but mine won't start unless the tranny is in neutral.

Pics on my homepage.

Lordrandall: How did you wire the alarm up to detect whether the tranny is in neutral or not? The pics on your website are nice, but there is not explanation on how you did that... Thanks...
