for about 700 bucks a stock bose NOT! Just do a search, read opinions on www.epinion.com. everyone has their own likes when it comes to stereo equip. i like whatever is visible, as in the HU etc, to look good. so i went with a nice display kenwood Hu and a Kenwood EQ. But i bought it 3 years ago, and since then new stuff has come out. so i might sell it on ebay, and buy the newer HU. I personally love kenwood hu's, and alpine as well. they are not 2 pricey and sound good

Using the infinite power of ebay I came up with

Boston 6.5 components $250
Boston RM6 $110
Alpine CDA-7893 $270
Audiobahn A2801Q $220
Audiobahn A4401Q $190
2 Audiobahn Alum10Q $250
Sealed box $100
Amp kit/harness/etc. $180
-----------------------------

$1570

That's the best I can do. If you want custom installs for any of that, add about 1.45 billion dollars. That's my system when I complete it in October. Have half of it so far. Good luck

Re: best system under 1500

This is what my system will look like once I'm done with it (hopefully very soon).

HU- Alpine 7894 MP3 -- $300
Front speakers - Crystal components -- $150
Rear speakers - Infinity Reference -- $55
Sub - Adire Brahma - $380
Box - $80
Front speaker amp - JBL 180.2 - $145
Sub amp - JBL 1200.1 - $275
Wiring & Harness adapters - $125

comes out to about $1500 I think, sounds great and hits hard.
