Need help with replaceing speakers in my max

I know pretty much nothing audio wise, in terms of what is good and waht not. Anyway, my dads speakers are gone in his 91 max gxe. It has a blaupunkt houston cd player. 45wx4 i think. His stock speakers are crap now, all blown. I want to replace them for him. Looking to spend about $50-$80 on all 4 speakers, same or close to the stock size speakers. Can u guys point me in the right direction. Thanks in advacen

Hey, I have a pair of the old front speakers (stock) out of my 1998 maxima. Not sure if they are your size, but they are 6 1/2 inch. To look at a picture, just follow this link.

If you are interested, i would sell them to you for 20 bucks.

They are in good condition. The rear ones are the ones you DON'T want!

Thanks

Do some research first. Ebay is great if a manufacturer has a good warranty but forget it for info...

Go to a local high end car audio store and do some listening of speakers. Listen to the Coaxials and 2way components... You will have a 95% better idea of what you want after that. THEN, go to ebay if needed.

My top recommendation for highs/midbass are:

Alpine
Eclipse
Fosgate

There are other good brands but try to stay away from Sony, Pioneer, etc... Leave them to home theaters and TV's...

If you need custom help, email me...

Get hold of Maximadave and....

get yourself a pair of Boston Acoustics FX6s for the rear and a pair of FX5s for the front. I had the FX6 in my '94 connected to an Eclipse 4441 and they sounded nice and did not cost an exorbitant amount of $$.
