replacing my bose system need some advice

whats up everyone, im trying to replace my bose system on my 2k2. i have the navigation so the opening if perfect for an aftermarket head unit. i was wondering if anyone has or has information on the sony active black panel head unit(sound quality, ease of use etc)also... can i hook up a component system, 4 speakers and two subs to the new audiobahn 6 channel amp?. i have about 700 dollars to spend on a system which does not include instalation. i was looking into the blaupunkts overdrive components and coaxils. What do u guys think?

Well, a few weeks ago i got a Pioneer 7400 Hu from Canal, $260 CASH. And i just ordered from Crutchfield, 6 1/2 Infinity Ref. for the front and rears. The new Sonys are nice, but only one problem, i am not liking the pop out draw for the cd's. This depends on what model you are looking for. But to get me wrong , the new sonys are nice, especially the Hard Drive based one.

i dont think im gonna replace the head unit because i dont want to lose the nav audio and the 6 disc changer and the stearing wheel controls. i want to buy a component system in the front(recomendations appreciated), coaxils in the rear doors and coaxils in the back i will wire all the speakers to a four channel amp(recomendations appreciated) and get 2 tens subs to a two channel amp(you know)has anyone done this setup befoe and how does in sound. i generally want the same make for all of the speakers. i was looking in blaupunkt but never heard them before(saw good reviews at epinions.com)

Yeah, if I were you, I'd keep the stock unit. You don't wante to put that $1999 option to waste. ***Does anybody out there know if there is a way to wire up a DVD player or PS2 type of thing to the existing navigation screen?***

you need an rgb controller. I asked my local stereo shop and they told me 1800 dollars and that with the dvd player. Yet i saw somewhere on the net that the rgb controller is only 200 bucks. i dont know if they are trying to stick a broom in my @@s or there is alot of labor to do.

One more question can I power 6 sopeakers with a 5 channel amp is there a way to split the signal path?
