2k2 upgrade possibility?
I dont know yet how far i want to go with the system in my 2k2. Im contemplating upgrading everything on the extreme side, to upgrading the stock speakers with components like kenwood x or pioneer...etc. So that said, are the stock speakers in the 2k2 4 ohm or 1 ohm on the bose system. Also if i do the full upgrade and go with the kenwood x959 headunit should i get a console kit out of a 2k1 max so the single din deck can be installed? I dont want some custom kit for the headunit, they never look as good as a stock kit. Thanks in advance.

If you want to upgrade to the extreme you should be looking at far better speakers. Focal, CDT, Image Dynamics, etc. I've yet to determine the impedance of the bose speakers in my 2k2. Maybe I'll try to figure that out tomorrow.
I'd suggest a full upgrade, new HU, components up front, an amp for the components, new speakers for rear fill (if the bose aren't 4 ohms). Power the rear fill from the HU. Toss in a 12" sub for the bass. Get another amp for the sub, or get one 4 channel amp that you can bridge to be a 3 channel amp. Power the sub from the bridged pair and the components from the other 2.
Metra dash kits are good. They look fine. I've used them in several cars. You can get them from Best Buy (in the back in their install bay, not the crap on the shelves in the store) or partsexpess, or some other places.
