I need a dual 15" MDF sub box. Anybody know any places online that sell these for less then $70 shipped?

Your insane man. 70 bucks for ANY box is cheap, unless you want a box made by some hack. And why 2 15" subs. You drive a Maxima, not a fricken Hummer. 2 12" subs will give you more bass than you will ever need. I suggest you rethink your budget.

I've been running 2 15's in my cars for 2.5 years now, so I know how much bass I need. As for the price, I'm just seeing if anyone know a good cheap place, because I know there is always something to be found for a lower price.(with comparable quality)

www.speakerhole.com is the cheapest online that I have found. I'm not sure how much shipping is to where you live but you should be able to get something for around $70. Make sure to tell them what sub you have so it will fit perfectly and if you want the box ported, put that in the comments too.

Never trust a pre-made/pre-fab box that sells for under $100

When get my boxes, I add some more nail, and seal all the seams inside with silicone.

Speakerhole is the cheapest place I found also. Thanks for the help.

The price may make it seem like you're not getting a quality box, but I can definately say that these boxes are made well. I've ordered about 5 different boxes from speakerhole and I have never had a problem (been using them for a about a year now). Sure, you could build your own or get one custom made that would be of better quality, but if you don't have the tools/time to build your own or the money for a custom box, speakhole is a quality cheap alternative.

I guess it depends on the subs, really. With 15"s, it sounds like mb1 is an SPL guy...but they could be lower-quality 15s. If I had a beefy SPL sub, I wouldn't want to put it in 1/2" thick MDF...3/4" at the lowest, and if you wanted to go all-out SPL, a ported enclosure made specifically to take advantage of the sub's capabilities at low-range frequencies, ie. probably .25/.5cu ft bigger than recommended for the sub in most cases.

Then again if you run like, $100 fosgates or something among those lines, most pre-fab 1/2" MDF boxes will work out OK. By the same token, I've seen an old Rockford Punch XL 12" thump very surprisingly loud because the enclosure it was in was very well-built and thought out. To me, skimping on an enclosure is like skimping on a motherboard in a computer - better to have an "adequate" sub and a good enclosure than the other way around.

It's not really skimping because their enclosures are 3/4"MDF. I just sent them the specs of the box I want to custom build, so I'll see how much that will be.

Yea, if you can have 'em custom build with 3/4", then I think you'll be good to go. I wouldn't mind that option personally, but the shops here charge way too much for even simple, sealed cubic custom-built boxes

I use a 1" thick particle board for my sealed enclouse for my Dual JL 12W1 setup. Maybe I am going overboard, but I would go nothing less than an inch for 12's or larger. Like the Bizz said. Box before sub.
