Factory BOSE CD player

Every so often, when putting in a CD to play, the Bose system in our 96 GLE reads "Error" and spits the CD back out. Any ideas?

Of course, wouldn't you know that I couldn't get it to do this while under warranty....oh well.

Thanks.

I had this error when I had my Bose in. It would only occur with CDRs though, not the silver originals. I've heard that it also may occur when it gets really hot, either from playing a CD over and over for a long period of time or from just high temperatures. If it is happening with original and different cds and it seems to be getting worse, you CD player might just be on the way out. You do have a 96. I've heard that it is an insane amount to replace the entire unit so you only option then would be to add a stock changer or replace the Bose with aftermarket.
