Remove or disable stock tweeters in sail panel

I'm about to put in a set of MBquarts in the doors. I'm keeping the stock deck for now, so I want to disable the stock tweeters. Does that little grill cover snap off somehow? Can I get to the speaker from there?

If not, is it hard to remove the sail panel? or is there a easier way to turn off those tweeters? I want all the power I can get for my Quarts.

BTW, this is a non-bose system.

I have a 2000 GXE and it was just a snap part. You could probably just cut the wires there.

The entire plastic "column" comes off. Start at the the very top and pull it out (towards the center of the car). Yhe little grill will not come off. You'll have to work the panel back and forth to get the bottom to come out. Once you work it out. You can then just unplug the tweets.
