Looking for a class D Amp

I just got a 15" solo-baric speaker that needs some serious juice to pump it, and I'm looking for help on which amp I should get.
It pumps 1000 watt RMS at 2-ohms, and it handles 2000 Watt peak.
I was looking at the rockford fosgate bd1500.1 amp, but don't know if it's enough juice or too much juice for it. and I was also looking at the memphis 16-ST1500D which is about the same as the rockford fosgate amp, but once again, don't know if it's enough juice or too much juice for it. Need help and I appreciate the suggestions, thanx

The Rockford bd series should be perfect.

jbl 1200. Underrated, and under 300 bucks. Its a really good deal on a good amp.

Try the Revolution. At ampmanaudio.com - It is brand new, in fact may not be available for a couple more weeks. About 1600 watts at one ohm, 800 or so at 2 ohms. Clean power. Brand new less than $400, shipped. Should blow the heat sinks off a JBL amp in both power and SQ.

But how much do you want to spend? It sounds like an SQ amp is out of the question considering the speaker you chose.

Thanx for the advice guys, I'm looking into the SONY xm-1600gxd or the MTX, or Memphis...but I really want the Rockford Fosgate BD1500.1.
It's just that they are hard to find, I only see refurbished RF amp on the web and at teh stores, I'm looking at least $800.00.
A class A/B Amp pulls too much power from teh battery and heats up alot more than a Class D amp. A class D amp is more efficient and more stable.
Any way, I am selling my current system that I have now. I have a power 800.2 RF amp, and 3 10" RF HX2 woofers, and I have a box for the speakers as well......

There are numerous amps less than that price that have 1000 watts or more at 2 ohms. In fact, for that sub I wouldn't personally spend more than $300 - $500 for a new amp. It will be hard to hear the difference between a class D amp with some evidence of sound quality and a class D that's strictly for SPL. If you were using a W7, Brahma, or IDQ, I would try for the newer MTX, ARC, ampmanaudio.com Revolution, Zapco, or the RF. Not necessarilly in that order. Also, try to get something with an infrasonic filter. To cut the low bass that simply is unheard and frequently leads to clipping and over-excursion. And for the greatest efficiency look at the Hlabs amps. They can be brought direct from Hlabs, or through ampmanaudio.com.

Spend the money you have left over on bracing the sub box, wiring, and a good capacitor.

JBL is cheaper, and it wont blow any heatsinks off at 2 ohms. I'm not knocking the revolution, personally i got a brax x2000 chrome from ampman......but thats not everyone's budged. My friend had jbl1200 pushing 2 12 brahmas and it sounded nice.

If you don't want any control of the cones motion, get the JBL. This is the unending problem of the JBL amps. Very low quality power supply and almost non-existant damping. It probably sounds good with the brahma because it is an incredibly linear sub. Imagine that same sub with an average or better amp.

The revolution is under $400 shipped, with some of the needed wiring accessories. And it delivers at least 1/3 more power at 2 ohms. Not typical JBL power, well controlled power. It's certainly no ARC1500DR, or BRAX, but it's leap and bounds better than the JBL, as are many amps. JBL had only one goal when they built that amp, high power. Unfortunately they were successful to the full extent of their expectations.

your choces are all good but if thinking on a refurb, I would pass on the idea..I always look at them as they blew for some reason, chances are the problem is fixed, but chances are it will happen again..had a Soundstream amp I sent back to mfgr. 4 times and kept coming back to last a week..just another opinion....even memphis's 1100d will work for your app well too the mtx the guy is selling is a hellar amp too
