MB Quarts....no space!!!

I have a question for all you audiophiles out there. I currently have a stock Bose system as well as 2 12" subs in a sealed box and a set of MB Quart components which i have not yet installed. I am looking to keep all of the Bose speakers functional and adding the MB Quarts. Now, my only dilemma is where to mount the components. They are 6 1/2" mids and 1 1/4" tweets. The tweeters will probably be mounted in the dash somewheres, but may end up in the headrests.....who knows? But my main concern is the midrange 6 1/2"'s....where is a good place for them to go without doing any crazy fiberglass pod work? My rear deck has little room to play with considering my sealed box is in the trunk against the back seat and sits rather high, almost to the top of the trunk bars. I may look into the floor pods on the front floor by the kick panels. Does anyone know of sites that may have those? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys!

I think you're referring to the Q-Logic kick panel enclosures. I know Crutchfield *used* to carry them, not sure if they still do. Several years ago, kick panel enclosures were the hot ticket for front imaging/staging. You would mount both the mid drivers and the tweeters down there for best imaging.

Not sure what the current trend today is, though.

Hope this helps,

kicks are very much in style...unfortunately, they don't make them for a maxima..I had to make them myself.
But for what you are doing, you might just want to use the factory locations if you have tweeters in your doors now.
If not, kicks aren't really that hard to build, just a little time consuming for the first time.
you could also get some heavier guage than normal, metal duct strap...mount the tweeters to the duct strap and place it on top of the 6 in the door giving it a coax affect but can position the tweeter with the strap

I've never worked with fiberglass before, but I have all the necessary equip. My only concern is how to make the mold to start them off and how to make both sides equally shaped? Good call with the door tweets & the strap. Thanks!

As much as I can appreciate you wanting to keep all of the existing speakers, those MBQuartz' will scream in your front doors. If you are familiar with MB's, they are HEAVY in the treble area, so be carefull where you place the tweets. In my humble opinion, it is very difficult to sound match the stock speakers with higher end components. Good Luck with your search...

quarts are actually pretty good with some tuning and don't know if that is an option.they also favor off-axis response as well..fire them "away" from you ant they will do fine why I kinda suggest doors over kicks.
actually, you can just mod the ones you have now for just tweets
