I've heard about Mineral Wells, but never gone to any of their events..

Used to also have some pretty open events in OK when the NEOKLA region ran at Davis Field.

That course seems kinda hard to navigate at first but I'm sure after a slow drive through and a few runs the track becomes easier! But the turns with 2 cones I would think would cause me to steer kinda on the twitchy side!

They're a lot clearer when you're not looking through the lens of a camera. I'm ALWAYS confused when I watch auto X on video...

We have some races at Milton Frank Stadium in Huntsville that run up to a minute and a half, and the Miata is redlined in third gear. Some of the vettes were getting up to 90 or so. Crazy fast courses! I might take the Max to one this summer and see how she does.

Yeah, you'll learn all that when you get there. Our region posts course maps a day or so before the event so you can get an idea of where you gotta go. Then when you get there, you're given time to walk the course before racing starts.

When you show up, tell them you're a n00b, and they'll usually stick you with an experienced person to guide you through the process and get you around safely.
It's really very beginner friendly- you just have to let them know.

In our region if you're a n00b and getting lost run after run, we throw somebody in the passenger seat to help talk you through it. In addition you can often ride with somebody else allowing you to focus on the course flowing rather than all the driving mechanics.

They've gone one step further with our region. First-time n00bs MUST ride with someone before they're allowed out on course in their own car.
I agree with that 100%.....
