My Experience with Tustin Nissan...long
Started out in July 23rd, I ordered 6 NGK plat spark plugs, 4 oil filters, and a sunroof windflector. I was informed the windflector needed to be ordered and he wouldn't be able to send it out until the 25th (thursday). I was fine with that since I was going on vacation the entire week therafter.
Upon my return, my family told me they had received nothing so I called them up and they told me they're still awaiting the windflector, since I wasn't in a hurry I was OK with it. I checked every few days, nothing. I started wondering wth was going on, ~2 weeks i called and they said they'd find out and call me back..which never happened. So then they finally did alittle investigation, i guess, and tell me it's been on backorder since June?!? Finally I asked them to ship the other items which came promptly (as prompt as ground from CA-VA anyhow =) ). Meanwhile, I contacted another Nissan dealership (I think courtesy) and they tell me that it's been discontinued indefinately, awaiting a new manufacturer...
I don't know about you, but that doesn't rank high in my customer service standards..I'll give him a benefit of a doubt that he didn't know...but 1 month of waiting and I had to be the one to break the news to them.
More issues: parts I received, 6 spark plugs (COPPER. and oilfilter w/ drain plug washers. I ordered/paid for platinum, alright..people make mistakes. So I call them up and he checked and apologized..then he was like "I'm gonna trust you. I'll go ahead and send the platinum's out and you can send me the copper's back". My response, "OK what about shipping back to you", his response: "i won't charge you shipping on the platinum" in other words, you're paying for the shipping back even tho it was our fault. After repeating myself for the 3rd or 4th time I guess it finally hit him and he was like "oh! well don't worry about it, you can keep it since it was our mistake and i'll ship the plats out tomorrow". his tomrrow turned out to be a week.
, w/ 3 day shipping. I had them refund me the money for the windflector which was creditted promptly.
IMO way to much hassle..
My 2 cents

that sucks, tustin is fond of making mistakes but i admire them for their trust. I also ordered a regulator from them a while back and they sent me the wrong one. I was ****ed because i hate waiting for shipping and needed my window fixed asap. I called them up told them their mistake and they did a next day delivery for the right one free of charge (obviously) and shipped it even though i didn't ship the wrong back yet. I shipped it with the slowest delivery and they had no complaints. In fact, they emailed me when they received it and thought i wanted credit for the wrong one (i didn't pay for the second one they sent). I could have probably said yes and got regulator for free but i'm not that type of guy.
To make a long story short, they have made mistakes, even with me but i think they do a pretty good job TRYING to keep their customers happy and i will continue to buy from them....my 02 cents
They messed up with my order too. They sent me the wrong dash piece, but when I e-mailed him, he called me up and sent the other one out. I sent the other one back. It did cost me to ship back, but I was still happy because they fixed their mistake.

I've probably ordered from Matt 5 times. All kinds of parts for tranny rebuild, bearings, differential gear, some pins, etc. I ordered an oil pan, got it with no problem. About a month later I told him I didn't need the pan as I got mine fixed. Well next time i was ordering, maybe another month later, I asked him if i could just ship it back and use the credit, and he was fine with it. From the 5/6 transactions I've had, I had no problems. $hit does happen though, nothing is perfect. At least its not the dealers honesty that you are questioning, seems like misinformation
Just to clarify -- I would definately order from Matt again. I understand that people can make mistakes. I was very satisfied with how he handled the mistake. At least there are still some people who know how to run a business like Matt.
Also, just to throw in here: I also had a very positive experience buying from Jerry Rome Nissan. Ken is a very nice guy and great communication via e-mail.

Adding my $.02 to this forum, I ordered some AE parts on 9/10 and an ignition key. Matt told me the AE parts were on backorder but would be about 2weeks. No biggie! Well, today is 9/29 and still nothing. I e-mailed him last week and he replied saying all but one AE part was missing. I asked to ship out what was ready so I am still waiting to find out. Will call him Monday for an update though. Oh yes, I did get the ignition key within 5 days though...ooosshh! Thank God!
