The 1st time I ever brought my car into the dealership was at 10,xxx miles. It was for the datadots/HID security upgrade. They never mentioned anything about any 15K service.

1) Call Nissan and complain.
2) If your gut instinct is telling you the dealer is BSing you, trust your gut instinct. (Especially if dealing with nissan service depts.)
3) Find a private mechanic to do the work.
4) Update us with any new news.

Only if they can prove the part you put in caused the damage... but then again, YOU have the responsibility to prove THEM wrong.

I asked if I could put an intake on my car and the service manager said it would void the warranty on everything from that to the cat. converter. I really doubt an injen would cause a cat to fail, but then again I don't have the time/money/desire to fight them on it, so I take it off when I bring it in for service.

Also, they can not require to you have the service done there, but they can definitely require you to have service done. I sold a car that had an extended warranty I wanted to transfer and they required all the receipts for all the oil changes and regular maintenance before they'd honor it. I had the paperwork so it was ok, but he said if I dnd't have all the oil change receipts they would NOT honor any extended warranty requests.

It is a good idea to have a tape recorder on you for some incident like this. But how many of us carry one. NY state law you can tape record conversation if you are in that conversation, nothing wrong with that. If you had that done, you can sue the dealership, for false advertising(information), and get the person fired. Call Nissan and complain to them. That does not look good for the Dealership. I would still call Nissan. And go have a talk with the Service manager.
