Nissan Dealers have crappy customer service.
Well today my friend and I were car shopping (for him). He was looking into a used 3.5 Altima or a Sentra Ser Spec V (I know I know, I've been trying to convince him into a 5th gen 6spd). Anyways, we went to 3 Nissan dealerships in town, 2 own by the same person. The first one we went to we found a 3.5 Altima, we were excited. Well in the process of trying to take a closer look inside the car, the supervisor of the guy who was helping us came up and whispered "loudly" to the salesperson "make sure if you take these guys out for a test drive, that they don't do burn outs or race around town, we don't do joy rides". Well little did he know, my friend was ready to drop a 8-9k down payment. We decided to call the general sales manager about the experience we had but he blew us off like nobody.
Second dealership we went to, we found another 3.5 and wanted to find a price, well we stood around for 15 mins and the operator even page 3 time for a salesperson but no one came. So we left.
Finally the last dealer we went to they were a lot better with customer service and we were able to test drive a new Spec V. Well during the test drive the slaes guy said " I love how Nissan put the V6 in this year's Spec V, a lot more powerful than those Civics and Corollas" me and my friend looked at each other like Wow.
I know dealers usually have a bad rep on ripping people off with repairs but do they not care enough to even treat potential customers right? I mean they don't seem like they even care or know what they are talking about (in the case of the Spec V)?
Makes me think twice about buying another Nissan...

there could be so many reasons why they treated you like that, as you have said, out 3 , 2 are being owned by the same... so guess they dont care about the competition...
but try taking the issue to nissan consumer affairs, and check what happens...
anyway, i would never go those dealerships again....

Hey thats some cars-salesmen for you. People will judge a book by its cover. These guys see 2 young males walking up who dont appear to be their average consumer they prolly dont care. As for the guys who were talking acrap about joy rides? I would have pulled out my 10k in down payment and said "If i wanted to joy ride I would rent a car, You think this is enough to rent one?"
Way it is sometimes..

It sucks the way Salesperson does look at you by the cover of the book. Pretty much most dealership, but if it was Hyundai, I don't think they would cuz their car is so damn cheap and crappy that anyone can afford. But if it were a Mercedes, think about how you would be treated, respectively. I know, I bought a Benz, and they looked at me like I am here just looking around but I actually want to buy the car. So bottomline, a lot of places gonna be like that. Perhaps that dealer you went probably had a lot of joyrider stopping at their dealer.

Well went to an out of town one and we are looking into a 5th gen 3.5 auto. 57000 miles 02 SE for about $15300. Dunno if we'll get but awfully tempted.
BTW this was a lot better than yesterday. It seems like every dealer we go to its either they swarm you like a pack of hungry wolves or they don't give a dam. Kinda funny...
