does anyone have any good experience with any dealers in Houston? Some place that is not too pickey with small mods? Any that do good warranty work period? Least hassle?

I have actually had good experience with both Robbins Nissan near Kingwood (Ray) and Baker-Jackson Astrodome (Mike). I don't think either of them do even minor mods but you can ask at least you can get decent service from them. They even try to match prices of others (Mossy is the cheapest on most services)

Houston Dealers

Mossy Nissan has decent service. I took my 2000 SE in for the A/T slippage TSB and they looked at it. The service manager was cool about it, but the technician who checked it out was a punk. The manager said he understood and knows about the problem and would take care of it if it happened again (they couldn't find anything wrong with the transmission at the time, and the problem went away).
My car is currently in the shop for some paint work, and they've taken a bit longer than they said.

I always heard Lone Star sucked for service. Someone else on the 5th-gen board said Baker-Jackson sucks if you have mods.

The service manager at Streater Smith in Conroe seemed to be cool about mods. I met him yesterday (I had my max in for its make ready ... 1 week old) and asked specifically if they did any work on Maxes with mods, and the warranty implications.

He said that there were a few folks that had FSTBs, CAI's and Y pipes and that none of those had warranty implicatons, but that supercharging, adding a turbo, or NOS would cause isues with directly affected parts.

Pretty good guy all around.

I might just drive out there to get good service. Do you remember what his name is?

His name is Mike. I had my max in for the Brake Jitter TSB. I though tI was going to be able to drop it at 8:30 in the AM and get it back the same day. Turns out I dropped it a 2pm (my bad) and had my Max back by 4pm with the problem fixed!

I talked to the GM and they are thinking about stocking some of the Coutesy parts. These guys are really interested in winning the business of the folks on the board, so if you do go in talk to the Service guy and the sales manager about maxima.org and stocking some performance parts.
