Shaved Emblem

I just shaved my rear Nissan emblem on my '96 max, the problem is that there is still some sticky residue remaining and water dries around the spot where the adhesive was, showing a rectangle where the the emblem was... just wondering if there is anything i can use to get rid of this stuff. thanks.

goo-gone then wax afterwards. Some say WD-40 then wax but I personally never tried it.

i debadged my trunk and picked off the double sided tape. then used some goo-gone type removal to get the remaining residue off.. However, I still have quite visible traces of the letters "maxima" and "SE" and now on top of that, i have whitish stuff surrounding it, from what i guess was rubbing the area with a cloth and goo-gone.. it's like a whitish spot on black paint with the imprint of MAXIMA and SE left. I haven't had time to mess with it, but i waxed the area and it didn't help any...
what do you suggest i do to remove this mess and make it look like the badges were never there to begin with?

I've never debadged anything, but often the paint left underneath stickers, badges or whathaveyou looks different than the paint around it that has been exposed to the elements. Try a mild abrasive like a swirl remover or scratch remover on the area and see if that evens out the appearance of the paint.
