Cleaning Titanium Finish Aluminum Wheels

Has anyone used a aluminum polish on these wheels? I saw the Nissan TSB concerning these wheels that said: ONLY use aluminum wheel cleaner · Do NOT use chrome or wire wheel cleaners as surface discoloration may occur (e.g., black stains or spots). But this mentions nothing about the use of polishes.

Not to disapoint you, but the Titanium Edition wheels are nothing more than metallic paint and clear coat like the regular ones. Wash with soap and water like you would any other base/clear paint. I use Zaino on mine to keep the dust from accumulating as rapidly plus it makes them easier to wash.

I always wash my TE wheels with the same car wash (Meguire's Gold) and water that I washed the car with. It works good, just need to rub a little bit and everything comes right off. Last summer I used Mother's Aluminum polish on all 4 wheels a couple times, it didn't damage or discolor them at all but to be honest I can't say it made a good difference either. They looked pretty much the same to me. Maybe it's because they're only painted like t56gen3 said.

Be careful with what you spray on them...one member had the paint peel off.

Underneath is black primer.

I've used Blackfire wheel cleaner for like 10 washes and nothing happened to my rims. They also had a nice shine to it. Even your dad was asking about them, remember Heath? I've also tried this other cleaner, can't remember the name, but it worked fine, no discoloration whatsoever.

I bought My 2003 SE with discolored wheels, the car was used for 6 mounths. I thought the streaks were the Wheel shine the dealer put on and when I went home and rubbed my finger acros, then I really felt screwed. When I took it back to the dealer they said that is the way I bought it.
