The Absorber. F+++
just how the heck do u use that thing? i tried to dry my car with it and man talk about a pain in the ****. that thing sticks to the surface of the car and u cant even "wipe" down the surface of the car with it. how do u guyz use it and whats the key to that thing? im planning on returning it and getting my 10 bux back cuz the 100% cotten towels work much better !
the reason why it sticks: your car has NO wax on it. I would rethink the way you detail your maxima. Ive been using the absorber for over 6 years, and there is NOTHING better to dry the car. Now, you should have washed it out with warm water, and then wrung it out. After you do this, you can effectively dry the car. It takes me 6 min tops to dry my entire car.
i love my absorber. Its so nice. Now if the car only has a few drips of water then sure it wont work AS GOOD. If the car is wet just drag it across the surface and it will wipe it away. i agree with AMG. It takes me no more then 10 minutes to dry the car. I also like the wiper blade. After it rains i run out with the blade and get the majority of the water off then hit it with the absorber. I like it because it takes no time at all and leaves NO streaks! But its your choice. I have 4 of my own that my family and friends use.
california drying blade + waffle weave microfiber. That is the answer you are looking for. I used to use an absorber. Sucks compared to the blade + WW. Of course the blade only works on the large flat surfaces. You do not want to use one unless you make sure the car is absolutely dirt free also.
I personally LOVE the Microfiber towels to dry with these days. I used to use a chamois, then switched to the chamoise and california blade, and now it's all microfiber towels. They are great, leave no fuzz or anything, and make sure not to leave any streaks or water spots. The best thing about them is that you can buy them at Price Club or Price Costco in bulk! they are bright yellow and for about 12 ro 16 of them it costs $8 or so.
I haven't tried this obsorber thing yet. I will look for it, when I am out next.
By the way, if anyone is looking for a 10in orbital buffer, Target has them on clearance right now for under $10 bucks. I can't vouch for the brand, but it may be worth it if you need an extra one or are a frist timer looking to see if you like it. Can't beat the price!

oh now thats why mine been sticking. cuz i bought the absorber to dry the left over water after using the water blade...
i used the water blade, then tried to dry the left overs with the absorber and since there wasnt much water left, it got sticky. but even then i lay it down on the surface and put pressure on it, took it off and it didnt absorb most of the water. i guess its either the absorber or water blade +towels.
oh ya, and my car did have wax from previous wash (1month b4), how can u wax before u dry. lol

I actually use the absorber in cojunction with the water blade when im feeling lazy, or am pressed for time to dry the car. The combo works really well, but you MUST have a sold base coat of wax for the absorber not to stick on dry surfaces. Also, the absorber must be slightly damp, not wet, or else it wont be effective at all.
I use a combination of the water blade and the absorber. I use the water blade for a quick once over to get standing water off my roof and use the absorber for everything that it misses and small place that it can't get to. Great for in between the spoiler and all the gaps in the front bumper.
I also tried the Absorber and HATED it ! Have had much better luck with a product I've rarely seen discussed here called Water Sprite. MUUUCH more absorbant than the Absorber or genuine chamois.
I actually keep mine in water (24/7/365) and they seem to last better, have had several for over five years.

Wax as u dry is a nice way to keep up your wax job in between detailings. As to those who arent having any luck with the absorber, did you rinse it out before the first use? Also, you must store it in a dampened state. Then, when it comes time to use it, you have to saturate it, then wring it out (like a real chamois) for it to be really absorbent. I used to use a water sprite (basically the same thing as the absorber in that its a synthetic chamois, but made by a different company) and found that the absorber works just as well.

i used to use big terry cloth towels to dry, they would get saturated so fast and soon I would be out of towels. I just started using the absorber a coupla months ago and I love it. It really does absorb a lotta damn water in that rubbery thing and it's a waterfall when you wring the water out. No need for multiple towels and I don't need to throw the absorber in the washer eitehr when i'm done. I vouch for the quickness and effectiveness of the absorber.
i use the absorber, and it also does it for me.
i love chamois's but some companies are retarded. i used this chammy and gave this weird shade on my cf hood, now i cant get it off. its like oil or something.
