Rain-X fast wax
Rain-X fast wax
Hi all,
I just bought a Rain-X fast wax which says it's good on both dry and wet surfaces. Just wondering if anyone of you tried it ... Does this do any harm to the car paint ?
Thanks.

We've actually got some nice weekend weather coming up so I was planning on detailing my car a bit. Funny that you brought up the Rain-X Fast Wax, as I was actually considering purchasing and using the Rain-X Ultra Wax (I think that's what it's called). Does anyone have the scoop on that product and the advantages/dis vs. the fast wax or any other product for that matter? Also, would you recommend using their wash product before the wax? Thanks!
And FitHere, I've heard some good things about the rain-x products (In fact I love the rain-x window beading stuff and use it quite often). That's why I was thinking about purchasing the wax...

I wouldn't recommend either one of the RainX waxes mentioned. My neighbor used the Ultra Wax, and his car ceased any beading after only 2 weeks. We detailed his car after that, and we used much more high-quality sealant and wax on his car and it continued to bead for 4 months.
If you want to get a wax locally, go with Meg's NXT Tech Wax. That's one of the best waxes you will find at local stores. The high-end products are only available online.

And furthermore, I think the Wax as U Dry type products are meant to work best while the user is buffing the water off with a towel. I don't think the wax would be able to have much of any effect on the paint if you wiped the water/wax off with a CWB.
I don't have much faith in those half-assed waxes anyway. For me, the apply-by-hand,-let-dry,-and-buff-off types are the only wax to go.
