waterspots

I almost have some damage from waterspots, the sprinklers constantly spray the right side of my car every night and i only have enough time to wash the car a couple times a month. now, even after a thorough wash, the right side still has water spots. what do you guys suggest for taking care of this? would a simple clay bar work?

It really just depends on how bad the waterspots have engrained themselves into the paint. In my case - http://f.maxima.org/showthread.php?p...77#post4066877 - the spots had completely etched themselves into the clear coat and thus all sorts of combinations (clay bar, paint cleaner, distilled white vinegar) had no effect on the paint. However, as you will see at the bottom of that thread, it looks like we may have finally found the right product to get rid of them thanks to bluesbrekr. I hope this helps.

i would say try a good rubbing compound before you decide to clay bar the car...it's easier if you have a pc

no, a rubbing compound is what you use before the polish, it is similar to a paint cleaner. usually people start off with it or they claybar and then use a compound.
