Polish?

I just went to Advance Auto to pick up some supplies per reccomendation of BlueC to get rid of some scratches. He reccomended some rubbing compound and some polish. Since the selection was rather limited, I got TurtleWax rubbing compound and Meguiar's Deep Crystal System Polish (Step #2). Chase (BlueC) reccomended Meguiar's #9, but they didn't have any. Will these two products do ok for removing some scratches left by a shopping cart?

Thanks

BlueC just called me and told me they should work decently enough. Second opinions?

Nevermind, went ahead and tried them anyway. The rubbing compound took care of most of my scratches, and the polish hid anything that didn't get rubbed out. Looking good. Now for a nice wash & dry of the whole car

great!

just wanted to add a note about the polish. The polish shouldn't hide the imperfections. It actually gets rid of them. I'd recommend putting down some type of wax on top of it.

I did put a coat of wax over the areas that I rubbed/polished then...and of course gave the Max a well deserved wash & dry

Yup.

Wash -> Dry -> Rubbing Compound -> Polish -> Wax

Then I washed and dried the whole car.
