Good wheel polish to go with Mothers Powerball?

I went out and bought a powerball today...unfortunately, right next to the powerball is supposedly the polish specifically for use on the powerball...I think its called Mothers Power Metal? Well, its sold out....

but it kinda hit me, the polish is $10 in a small container...is this polish really good and specifically designed for the mothers powerball? or is it just marketing so you can buy THEIR products? was wondering if there was another kind of polish I can use for my wheels...that works very well...and has a long lasting shine....

I can't wait to use this over the weekend!! Please let me know what kinda polishes are good for wheels....btw, mine aren't chrome...they are gunmetal with a polished lip!

I dont think you need to spend $10 on a special wheel polish. I applied a coat of 'Ol Skool Turtle Wax. Looks good and cheap.

The wheels are painted right?
Use a light paint polish on the gunmetal and metal polish for the lip
I would only use the powerball on the lip though

so is there any good name brands? and why would you only use the powerball on the lip? I mean, isn't the whole purpose of a PB to cut down time polishing the whole rim?

However, the premise behind the Powerball is to buff the metallic parts of the rim (In your case, lip). The gunmetal is clearcoated like your car's paint and there is a risk of damage to the clear.

ohhh, ic ic...but wait, i did hear something about people re-clear coating their lips? if thats the case, isn't the lip clear coated as well? (and will cause damage to it?)

prinz, can you reccomend me a good polish for my rims? or do i have to give in to Mother's marketing and buy their POWER polish

I have Wenol (Blue tube) in my stable because it's a gentle polish. Others include Blue Magic (OTC).
