I have used ice and didnt like the results. It was hazy and didnt last very long (max 1-2 weeks). There are no shortcuts in the detailing world.

Even their website says: nothing can beat the results from a good paste or liquid wax, but for those who are lazy there is ICE. Well something like that :P

Ice is good to wax certain parts of cars since it doesnt effect plastics. What I mean by this is... Ice doesnt leave any residue whats so ever. So you can use it to deal detail the black rubbery plastic materials on your car without leaving and ashy looking residue. So it is convient at times, but use it for minor applications. A clay wax is definitely better overall.

so this is just another marketing sceme? haha, for the lazy theres ICE. i just thought these were great by the stupid informertial. people were like "this product is great!" " i love this product!" i guess they were all just paid or got free product for saying some BS on TV. detailing is hard work! but true, nothing beats little bit of elbow grease and time.

I used it yesterday and it gave a pretty good shine to it. Seeing it hazed up was difficult. For one, it's clear going on and second, I have a white car.

Results was fairly good and it was pretty easy to take off. No white residue at all and it worked great on the rubber trims.

I then read this review and heard it didn't last that long so I rewaxed again with some Meguairs today. Now I know it will last a little longer.

I think that pretty much says it all about their 'clay'. As for their wax...MUCH better options and there are plenty of other waxes that will not only last longer, not only protect better, but also do not stain your trim. Plus, they will look MUCH better, and will be cheaper to use.

Turtle Wax has done it again by failing to impress me.

Does it make any diference whether it's applied with a buffer or by hand?

Doubt it although buffers will always yield better results. I think it's been said before. Can't really substitute good wax for this stuff.

Any spray mist should just be used for a quick shine after a wash.

That said, I like ICE because my car is black, and Ice does not dry white! That's a big deal on a 10 year old car with tons of tiny nicks. Any other wax fills in those nicks, and the next day the nicks are filled with dry white wax. Looks terrible!

After a wash, I usually just hit the hood, the middle of each door, and the top of the rear quarter panels. Takes only a few minutes. I buff by hand. If you're going to pull out a power buffer, you might as well put down a hand wax.

Ice liquid wax is perfect for lazy people or for those who are in a hurry.
It took me a year to use one bottle of Ice wax.
It's not as shiny as Meguire's Gold Class or even NXT Tech wax.
In addition it doesn't last more than a week.
Ice clay bar is pure crap and does not do the job.
Although their quick detailer spray is good and I use it.

There are lots of top quality products that do not stain the rubber trim.

I personally use Klasse AIO and Sealant Glaze

http://www.eshine.ca/proddetail.php?prod=1
http://www.eshine.ca/proddetail.php?prod=2

Topped with P21S carnauba wax:

http://www.eshine.ca/proddetail.php?prod=17

Never leaves residue on the trim.

The ICE products are definately easy to use. But for a little bit more effort you can have a much better finish. The Klasse and P21S seem expensive at first but they should last you a few years before you buy again. Of course the secret is to use as little product as possible.

I used the liquid clay bar, which is a very fine polish, that does get the dirt out, I was pretty impressed with the results, its not the real thing, but it does a pretty decent job. I then followed up with a good wash and a good waxing using Mequires paste wax.

A lot of those liquid waxes are high in silicates and do not last long.

I didnt like the finish it left on my paint. It was hazy and didn't last long. I just use it for the black trim around the windows.

I probably won't use the wax; but I LOVE the ICE QuickDetailer. I have used EagleOne and Mequiar's QuickDetailers and the ICE imho is best. the other two have a tendency to seperate (if you're like me and bought the EO or the Meg in bulk when it went on sale) the EagleOne left the most residue and streaking. the Mequiars held up better and in general was great for maintaining a "just waxed" car, but the ICE detailer worked ALOT better at softening up the appearance of hairline scratches on my black car.

yeah i know, this was supposed to be for the wax, but i just wanted to point out that turtlewax ain't all subpar lol. I really like their scratch & swirl remover too.
