I was at Wal-Mart today and I saw this little bag that said "The Best in Permanent Headlight Restoration" and I have been wanting to try wet-sanding my headlights but I figured I might as well try the kit out so I went ahead and got it, oh yeah it was around $22. Much to my suprise it came with 4 different pieces of sandpaper (2 of one kind, 2 of 2500 grit) don't remember what the lesser grit paper was but it comes with instructions, filler, polish, "hydro-weave clothes" the works, and the best part of all it really works...GOOD! Nice, i almost bought that kit but i bought a mother's powerball instead

 

how did that powerball work and what did you use for polish?

 

they sell kits too thats basically a polishing pad for a drill

i messed around with some headlights today with a PC and some meg's #9 and it took the yellow completely out

 

Man, I wish the 4th gens didnt have those small **** on the headlights...you cant buff them, you'll tear up a pad, and it hurts when you hit them by hand! Guess a Powerball would work...

 

Just grind them off

 

I thought about that, and might, but I am too afraid of hitting the headlight and grinding it...maybe some tape or something to protect it a bit more.

hey this is great timing, i picked up a similar kit fro walmart today, its got 2500, 2000, 1500 and 1000 paper, one of each and everything else

im riding a 4th gen with nipples on the headlights, if i take them out, do i have to realign them when i put em back in? silly question but i just need to make sure, oh and its probly harder, but if i do have to realign then i rather keep em on the car

edit: oh and should i do the corner lights while im at it? they dont look that bad tho

 

I remember seeing that at a walmart here in bako and thought that it wasnt worth my time to use since I have all the necessary materials that it supplies to do my own for a headlight project i'm doing. It is definitely a decent kit for a person who wants to spend the money and it's cheap at that
