Recommended "Leather" Seat Cleaner??

What is a good product for cleaning/maintaining my "leather" seats in my '03 Maxima? I'm not sure what the seat covers are made of but I'm sure they're not real leather. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

I'm happy with the Lexol leather wipes.

Yes, it's leather.

Actually - it's vinyl coated leather, so you treat the vinyl.

It must have changed, then, because my 03 owners manual says leather, and to use saddle soap (for leather) to clean.

Why on earth would you coat leather with vinyl?

See the following link:

http://www.1z-usa.com/Proper-Leather-Care_ep_62.html

From the article: "Now imagine the response when you tell that person that there's no need for the soap and rubbing the conditioner into the leather - that those days are long gone."

Coating it with vinyl makes it more durable and easier to care for. Trust me - it took me a long time to accept this.

All you need is:

and

TRUST ME! The Magic Eraser will make your seats look factory fresh and will remove all the gunk in your seat. You won't believe how dirty your seats can get until you use this.

I use saddle soap. I don't care if it makes the seats not last 20 years or whatever, by that time they will have fallen apart anyway.

Nothing cleans and softens like saddlesoap.

he is absolutely right, these magic erasers really work magic..i worked in a detailing shop for 2 years and if i didn't have these erasers when doing tan interiors i wouldn't even attempt to do it...just make sure u don't scrub too hard you run the risk of taking some of the seat coloring off...

for conditioning you cant go wrong with any meguairs or lexol product

If it's vinyl , I wouldn't use anything for leather. Use 303 aerospace protectant for all your vinyl, rubber and plastics. Best stuff on earth!

I like the Lexol conditioner, but have not been impressed with the Lexol cleaner. I can see dirt that its simply not removing. Am I not scrubbing hard enough? Maybe I should try a different product?

skip the lexol and other products. two clean rags. 2 buckets. one warm water, one a little bit of car wash soap (diluted with water of course). rub with car wash soap dampened rag, then rub with the rag dampened with pure water. cheaper and works just as well if not better than "cleaners"

thats too much work when you can just have a spray bottle for each instead of buckets.

I would only go this route if the leather had been neglected for quite some time and needed a real good cleaning. For leather that is well maintained wiping down with a good leather cleaner and then a conditioner would be fine.

I just use the Meguiar's interior quik detailer for the center armrest. Stuff works great. Just shoot a few sprays on a microfiber towel and that's all you need.

For the actual leather, I'm a huge fan of the Zaino Z-9 spray leather cleaner, then top it off with the Z-10 leather conditioner. Best part about this stuff is that a little goes a long way. Had the same bottle of Z-10 for over a year and I condition my leather about once a month (tan leather needs a LOT of attention!).

The Nissan Owners manual for my 2010 Max says do not use anything. Simply take a drag dampened with water and wipe the leather...

Thoughts?
