Nah son I wish! I just took off memorial day weekend cus Im just getting over freakin Mono (ownd). I cant be asking for days off for a while, lol. You know the situation with south beach and memorial day weekend, whole projects and hoods from around the country come to south beach, LOL. Only reason I was able to get it off was cus I had an bed-rest order from zee doc.

Congrats on the peak number, there's definitely good potential there. But you may want to look at the shape of the powerband, address top end and get some area under that curve...

thanks man. Well I know for a fact that alot of that drop in power after peak (on the closed cutout dyno, the open one cant be spoken of here because of the injectors) has to do with the ubber retarded timing Im running up there. Remember that right at peak and on my corrections go from -4-5% then +18% and by 6000 Im at +21%. This is taking back alot of timing and Im sure that has to do with it, along with the muffler's inert restriction of course.

One thing though, it was very loud in the dyno so I didnt hear it then. But last nite I was on the highway and it was empty, left lane next to the divider wall, I hit 3rd from 60 up to redline and Im just lookin at the boost gauge, soon as it hits 8-9psi Im getting pinging. I didnt hear it on the dyno but it IS pinging slightly at that high RPM.

This of course if WITH the retarded timing Im running up there. So what am I going to do about this? METHANOL injection . Im already lurking my350z.com looking for Emanage Blue- this is my current priority. Meth can come after that, right after upgrade the clutch, and THEN I can go ahead and upgrade the injectors.

I must say... it is so fun to break the tires loose on an inclined on-ramp in 3rd gear when it gets into boost at about 70-75mph. Engine roars.. turbo spools... tires break traction... engine bounces off redline with the turbo spooling..... and all this with high walls around you.... it was music to my ears

Ah - domination of the on-ramps - an old hobby of mine.... you can do that with nitrous, too.... Of course, merging at 100+ MPH can be nerve-racking for the normal traffic, but Oh Well....

Indeed it is chief.

At low boost its really not all that great if one plans to run low boost like 5-6psi. This turbo OBVIOUSLY given its size like to spool moderate to high boost. After all (in MY setup), 6psi gave 289whp. Turned it up just 3psi to 9, all of a sudden freakin 370+ whp and it could have gone right up to the 400whp mark were it not for the injectors maxing out! So really its not til NOW that its runing in its "efficient" area, and Im sure Im barely at the tip of it.

But really Im going to keep it at the 9psi. This setup here with better tuning and methanol, with bigger injectors will easily break the 400whp mark.

Keep in mind my motor is COMPLETELY STOCK INTERNALLY!

Great number !!!

The hx35 does seem to be a beast!

I made 340whp on a dek at about 10-11psi with hx35

In the process right now of getting an Emanage Blue, next is an ubber clutch to hold this power (my clutch is fine for now, its more like preventive maintenance though), then Methanol injection to keep the temps down/ hold back pinging considerably/ add possibly 10-15whp, THEN finally injectors. Lets see wat this setup REALLY does

why emanage blue? y not ultimate? are you already maxing out your current injectors right now?

What do I need an EU for? Im not extending redine on my stock bottom-ended 3.5, advanced timing is the last thing I need with boost, and auto-tune and 2-step launch are nice features, but not worth the cost difference IMO for something I could do just fine myself. After all, Im getting it BRAND NEW IN THE BOX for $140shipped.

And yes my injectors are maxing out, thats why the power drops off so nasty soon as I peak. Here's the ricer math....

Lets ASSume (lol) injector CC flow is exactly the maximum value of CHP that these injectors can feed. So with that said..

440cc [so we assume 440CHP] - 15% drivetrain loss= 374WHP

Basically, exactly where Im peaking and then loosing power.... My injectors are maxed out lol. I need 550s at the very least, preferably 650s just so I keep the duty cycle in the 80% vicinity.

UPDATE

Runfiles are in. I edited the 1st post to show the dynoruns. I overlayed the best NA, with open and closed cuout runs, one graph in STD the other in SAE.

i see. where did you get a new blue for $140 shipped? how much are they retail? and yeh, once you get those larger injectors, you'll be squirting out more hp no problem. can't wait for the new dynos.

UPDATE

I replaced the boost controller. I turned down the boost to 7.5psi to be safer for now. AF was mostly at the lo 10s, so I dropped fuel pressure from 65 to 60 (not only to lean it out, but also to give my injectors some breathing space) and it took it to 10.7-11.0 across the power band. Also doing this, the car was running MUCH better under partial throttle, and WOT felt much smoother. Dunno about being any faster, but its smooth, no pinging, and Im saving some fuel lol

EB is on its way! w00h00!!!

Means there's gonna be an Apexi SAFC2 for sale soon for $120 shipped OBO :hint hint:

While you still have the SAFC ... have you tried the IN1 / OUT4?

I thought you had a SAFCI

nah I havent tried it man. No point if my injectors cant feed the engine at that boost anyways, lol. So Im just running it safe.

I DID have an AFC1, but as soon as the turbo was operational, forget it! Not enough points for tuning, so like the next day I got the AFC2 from a friend and it worked fine... up until I started making real power and it started pinging lol. Now I need to control timing, so its got to go, lol

It be safer w/ 1/4 though, and it would be nice just to see if it even affects your AF.

For what it's worth --- I have stock Brembo OEM 4th gen rotors and Hawk HPS pads front and rear, and I have no problems with a modulated stop from 110+ down to 0 MPH while smoking the tires any time I want.... Got everything at TireRack.com, and have used these on the front for two years now after destroying everything else I tried. Rear pads/rotors went on last fall...

These brakes work goooood at the strip - with slicks on the front, stopping is awesome. Street use is also very impressive. They do powder the caliper after consecutive 100+ MPH stops, but who cares?

Thanks. I have brembo blancs and metal masters, but they are exactly 3yo now and def showing their limits. But they sure worked great for the first 2.5yrs!!! But I mean I got the 5.5gen brakes for $100, sooo, yea I want to have bigger brakes to fill in the 17s better
