Update: Please don't bash to hard.

If you have a tuning device please please learn how it works and how to use it. I am the guilty of doing that such thing.

Today I finally got the cables and ability to look at my Utec settings and realized I have been on MAP 0, and for you UTEC owners you know that means STOCK SETTINGS. I had an issue sometime back and turned it selector in hopes of running better so I could get home and never turned it back. So today I realized I never put it back to the map that SPARKS03 had made for me.

SO with that said the dyno in my post is with all boltons minus the UTEC LMAO, so I just wasted dyno time and money. I plan on returning soon with UTEC tuned with current mods, 3.5"MAF (in the Mail), 3" exhaust (already installed) and SSIM. <----stand by

Since I have a few peoples attention on this post Ill ask this question here

I have a Utec with the Turboxs wideband, when I go to connect to the wideband via Phone cable looking cord to my serial cable, my computer doesnt recognize it but when i hoop straight to the utec with the USB it works.

I want to hook into my wideband for obvious tuning and logging info can someone let me know what im doing wrong?

Wideband -> phone cord -> serial adp -> Serial to USB -> Comp = No connection

Utec -> USB = Good connection

James this is why I keep telling you to read the user manuals (if you don't have them, google it and download the PDFs). You hook the UTEC and the wideband together via the serial cable on the back of the tuner, then connect your computer to the WIDEBAND with the phone cord (as per user manual instructions). As long as the UTEC is booted up before the wideband, the wideband will recognize the UTEC and your hyperterminal screen will show the UTEC menus with an option to swap back to the wideband.

This is copied from the manual:

"In UTEC Operation mode, the Tuner must be connected to the UTEC using a regular RS232
serial cable via the UTEC serial port on the back of the Tuner. The UTEC must be booted and
running before the Tuner warm-up phase finishes. The Tuner will then detect the presence of
a UTEC if it is connected and functioning. An additional option to switch between the Tuner and
the UTEC will be available on the screen when the UTEC has been detected."

When you are trying to connect through the wideband, in hyperterminal are you going to settings and choosing the com port?

If you do usb to utec, then try and go through the whole tuner setup its not the same com port.

When I plug up straight to the Utec it's con 3 and it works, when I hook up to the tuner it's com 5 I've tried the same settings for both in HT and tried variations. I get a white screen I have tired hitting esc and enter to refresh it. Surratt I've asked you this Before about the "phone cable" but do both ends use have 6 wires or does one have 6 and on 8?? Also does the small grey connector have 6 wires or 8, I'm trying to cover all bases cause those are the only variations I could see being different. So SPARKS I should have HT setup turn the key on and try to connect to the tuner before the Display reaches 0?? To clarify things and if so I've tried that before and after, do I need to flip any switches on the Utec? And do I need to buy the logging program yet?

Ok so my phone cable is 6 wires, the 6 middle wires. on that grey adapter the 2 outer pins aren't touching the phone cable.

Id whats up with it, it should be connecting to the TUNER at least, thats not even counting the TUNER and UTEC.

If you cant connect to the tuner, dont waste time worrying about connecting to tuner and utec. Get connected to the tuner first.

haha, Haltech is def easy to connect to haha. Hard part is paying for the dam haltech! hahaahah
