313hp/272TQ-All Motor-Stock Cam

So over the last couple of months been working on a little something to make my car a bit more enjoyable....Im completely happy now. This is without my cutout, so in the future looking at tuning for my cutout and installing a decent meth kit to see if i can wrangle a bit more out of the motor. As well have been talking to moores about the possibility of a larger y pipe for the cattmans, so time will tell.

Just for ****s and giggles I went ahead and ran it to 7400 to see exactly what she would do...and needless to say she pulled strong to redline even gaining a bit at the upper revs.

If you are considering building the DE i would have to say, that for the comparable price the swap to the better flowing Altima and Maxima 09+ Motors are definitely worth it. Literally with this build we put down 313 out of a motor that is rated at 290 CRANK WHP from the factory. That relates to about 370 Crank WHP...

Needless to say, props to darren and thank you again.

Discuss?

Nice numbers and redline action.

What does this work out to SAE corrected?

Any info on the tune? Similar cam timing maps to Darren? A/F during runs?

Easy lol its in my sig with links but literally
CGR 4 inch intergrated maf housing
Haltech with Voltage Drop Harness for plug n play action
SSIM-A voltage drop original
Cattman Headers-3 Inch Exhaust- 3 Inch QTP Cutout which wasnt used
Unorthodox UDP
570 Injectors from a Gee Tee ARRRRRRRGH
255lph Warlboro
Stock Flywheel (Fidanza going on in the next couple weeks)

So Pretty much basic boltons.

Pretty much peaked at redline. About 296/268 SAE. Have the runfiles if you would like. Fuel didnt make much change leaning it out or enrichening, saw the most right about 13.2. Timing maps are similar to darrens. He did an initial tune and had darrens available they put down within 3hp of each other then he just started working. So darren was pretty close to begin with, and that dyno netted ~286/289 IIRC

Moreso shocked than anything darren. Youve been hounding me since my auto build was at 225- Between Darren at Voltage Drop and Aaron at NWP got it up to 267 (WHICH WAS AMAAAAAZING)- then the prodding to get off my utech- Then the 6 Speed Swap was all the MD Max Guys- The credit for the 5.7 though goes back to Darren again. Thanks for a solid plan and the support man. Definitely.

Thanks man. Thanks

Hoping to pick up a few lbs of TQ with the flywheel; and if God blesses me with a meth kit this summer could be pretty interesting, but the cams that came in the motor are definitely plenty for me lol.

So tempting. Can you imagine this setup on a 6th gen? Ultimate sleeper.

I'd say this set-up on a 4th gen would be the ultimate sleeper.

I really like the numbers the 2009+ motor puts down. Instead of haltech go with the utec? Would that be feasible? I know haltech is the way to go but I didn't want to add a budget like that for my DD. Besides the price of the motor how much would a swap like this cost?

UTEC wouldn't take advantage of the CVTC on both cams. I suppose a band aid for that would be a V-Manage. At that point, might as well just go with Haltech.

Voltage Drop goodies and this 5.7 swap seem to be the answer! Why stray away from all the proven ingredients needed to get your A33 to that next level...Voltage Drop's system appears to be that Majic Gene bottle we've been needing to find those extra horses hidden away in the electronic management of these engines...I wonder how much power would be sacrificed using a stock 7th Gen IM? But would that stock 7th Gen IM provide a higher TQ output at the end of the day....with this 5.7 swap? The reason I say that is the 5.5th Gen with all that NWP block plate etc....lacked the lowend TQ that made the 5.5th Gen a blast to drive with the basic bolt-ons (Headers, Intake, etc)...I found keeping the OEM VIAS and adding a NWP spacer kit made the car feel even meaner in a DD type of way..and it pulled so much easier in the normal driving arena than ever before....So that made me curious on how it would perform on the 5.7th Gen setup...would the OEM IM make the car more BALLSY and only hurt the peak hp numbers or what? Just curious???

What's the redline on the 7th Gen motor? Did you add ARP rod Bolts to your build? I was curious since you ran it up pretty high in the RPM's...

get with Darren Surratt Voltage Drop

good luck finding a vmanage, and then getting a shop to tune. We have a car that we just completed with a utec and vmanage setup, so we went with the altima motor due to only having the vmanage to control one set of cams (INTAKE). That little box is $500, puts you at 1100 just for cam control, thats HALTECH MONEY RIGHT THERE!!!!

Darren did all the comparisons with this and we also saw on the dyno with my boy chris's 5.7 swap. He ran a non SSIM manifold with the stock vias. ~286 hp. He topped out at 291 or so with all things considered, not bad but ehhhhhhh...Needless to saw we went right to a ssim for his car and hes...Happier lol.Retune coming soon. I also bested his tq numbers iirc. we both have since moved to other mods so itll be interesting to see how changes go now.

clevite bearings and arp bolts. We have a local thats been spinning his car to 7500 for about 4 years locally, this was to see what it would do, revs are at 7120 for daily use.

Crank WHP.... new term.

WHP is wheel horsepower.

You just mean crank HP.

You know what he meant ... he knows what he's doing and wouldn't be bragging that he only gained ~25whp.

Even though you quoted him nearly 2 years after the fact, even back then he knew what he was doing.

But the fact states, car came 290 from the factory (crank), CGR and Darren both put 300+ whp, so that's an even bigger accomplishment.
