94 Maxima Oil and Filter Help

I've been looking through the posts and haven't found exactly what I'm looking for. I have a 94 maxima. It's got 103,000 miles on it. I want to use the one of the best possible oil filters and the best oil for a car with this many miles on it.I live in MA where it gets cold but not below 10 degrees and hot but not above 110 degrees. I do a lot of stop and go driving and i tend to drive in a more sporty fashion(fast acceleration, fast braking). Exactly which filter and what kind of oil is best? Do I need synthetic, how thick?

In general, the best oil filter is the Mobil-1, though it is expensive. I have a 92 Max, and also live in Mass. Now I run 5w-30 synthetic oil all year round, but I used to run 5w-30 oil in fall and winter, and 10w-30 oil in the spring/summer. I use Nissan OEM filters since the mobil 1's are too pricy for me. Hope that helps you.

Bill has a sticky above that answers this very question. I use AMSOIL ASL 5W-30 and the AMSOIL SDF 36.

Actually, my sticky on oil filters is not really existent. In the oil analysis spreadsheet, there are some filters outlined in the "Oil Filters" worksheet for VG30E Maxima engines but I'm not happy with any of them.

I would simply use the 15208-55Y00 OEM filter until my research is complete.

I've got some fairly interesting cross reference choices that I'm going to personally try out.
