Help with CVT please!

New here but posting because I had a freaky moment with my car today that has me spooked and I really need some help understanding if its something serious that needs to be addressed asap.

First a little back story.. i am the second owner of a 2011 maxima sv.. i bought it with just under 40k and it currently has 112k.

So today when I can coming off the free way I made my way over to the far right lane to execute a right hand turn, but I didn't come to a complete stop while I was looking out for oncoming traffic. When I finally rolled into my right hand turn (not complete stop) and got on the gas the car didn't move and it felt like it struggled for a few solid seconds before it got going. My car never did that before and it freaked me out. I know these cars are prone to transmission failure and I'm worried my transmission is going out. I've never noticed anything with the transmission before.. other than maybe the transmission feeling a little hard to put into gear whenever the car sits on an incline. I don't think that's a big deal right?
