TRanny Oil

I dunno if it's a repost but i have a 97 maxima and it's leaking tranny oil trough the seal. I'm getting that fixed this friday along with my clutch. The question is what tranny oil should i use and what kind of filter? Thanks in advance.

manual tranny doesnt have an oil filter , and many people here have good results with Redline MT-90, i believe. many others swear by Amsoil, but i believe u can only get that at an Amsoil dealer (we have one here, search for him).

Redline or Amsoil is the way to go. For Amsoil, shoot me a PM and I'll hook you up. If you don't want a synthetic, make sure the gear oil they use is a GL4 fluid.

How many miles on your 5 speed? Have you checked this tranny for the dreaded bearing failure? If the bearings are going and the shaft is moving up and down, that can slowly start to tear the seal.
