Is it safe to go from 10W30 to 5w30 mobil synthetic

I did my oil change about 850 miles ago. I used a Bocsh oil filter and 10w30 Mobil 1 Full sythentic. I barely found out that 2000 Maximas use 5W30. Is it safe to go back to 5W30? THX

Not a problem... however, unless you, or rather your VQ, experiences sub zero temperatures, it is unnecessary to use 5W30... 10W30 will suit your VQ just fine. The lower viscousity of 5W30 is thinner so flows better at extremely low temperatures.

Either or is fine for you in your location. 5W-30 is better if you do shorter trips. 10W-30 better for longer.

Thanks guys, I understand now, 5W is for colder temps & shorter trips. I think I'll switch back to 5W30 because I do make shorter trips, not so much highway. THX
