Anybody heard of TORCO?

So heres the deal....my friend went to a Subaru meet and entered in a raffle....one of the prizes was 12 liters of TORCO SR-1 5w-30 synthetic...he won that prize but has no use for it....since he drives an Accord which only takes 5w-20.....

anyway the good friend that he is....he asked me if i wanted it....I gladly accepted because it was free oil.....anyway I never ever heard of TORCO before....but does anybody on here know anything about it? I have 12 liters (not quarts, but liters) of TORCO SR-1 5w-30 fully synthetic oil....it says on their website that they have been around since 1950....and my 5w-30 synthetic exceeds: API SL / ILSAC GF-3....is that good? should I use it for my 2k2? anything related to TORCO will be greatly appreciated!

I'm from the Windy-City (Chicago) now residing in So Cal and Torco is an oil specialty co. in the chgo area producing industrial, commercial, & yeah racing oils. They have some good stuff, comparable to Amsoil, Redline, etc.. During a Cub's game you can see their name plate over the left field wall. I worked for a bank that managed their family portfolio. Good people!!!

you use Torco Frank?? the same one as mine (SR-1 5w-30) ?

anyway the only piece of data I found is.....Mobil1 exceeds GF-4 rating....and the Torco that I have exceeds GF-3....thus making the Mobil1 a superior oil over Torco....

anybody else wanna input on this?

as far as oil analysis i need to get a chance to run over to the store and get so more torco. i still have quiet a bit to go before my next change.

just psycally when me and a couple other guys used torco before we did notice the the motor ran smoother. i normally use redline oils.(but this off course is just an opinion)

well there you go you answered your own question.

i won't use mobil 1

torco and redline seems to be the only two oils my motor would not eat up as fast.
