How to clean aftermarket air filters...

Since people have asked:

Don't know if we want to make this part of "how to" sticky,
but here is how to clean aftermarket cotton air filters like
K&N or the one that came with Injen.

I think people here are smart and you are the only dumb one.
Why would people follow this instruction if it says not to oil.
Did the link not say K&N?
