My last oil filters were bought in January...do you think mine is cardboard? Is there a way to check without destroying the filter itself?

If mine is cardboard...oh well, time for some mobil1 fully synthetic oil filters! M-105 size FTMFW!!

Between this heresy, and the slow creep toward the E-Core filters, I think perhaps it's time to start a filter hoard to complement my hoard of Green GC. Time to start grabbing K&N HP-1010s and M1-110s! By the armload!!!
