Choose a grease for starter, plz.

Hello,

I have been asking this question in Gen4 forum but no answers. Please give your suggestion to choose grease dor re-greasing my starter.

My car is 1999 Max GLE AT / 90K miles.

I did a goooole search and found a lot of terms that I don't understand. Let me list some of my questions.

1) Will general "multi-purpose grease" good enough for this project?
2) Should I use "synthetic lithium soap based grease" or "Moly grease" or something else?
3) Will bearing grease do the trick?
4) What viscosity should I choose? Is "High Viscosity" OK? Or something like 75W-90 will do the trick?

TIA

Mobil 1 Synthetic Grease (the red one).

I regreased my starter at 60K and now with the odometer at 105K, very good stuff!!!

Apply generously to the starter miniature gears and at the same time do overdo it!!!

Did mine about 5 years ago with AMSOIL Series 2000 synthetic grease and no problems since.
