Anyone tried Amsoil TRO (Series 2000 20w-50)?
Anyone tried Amsoil TRO (Series 2000 20w-50)?
Thinking of switching to this next spring. Thoughts?
I'm probably going to put in another order for Series 2000 0w-30 for a winter oil change, but I'd only order a few quarts if I do decide to try the TRO in the spring. If you all can steer me away from the TRO, I'll order a case of 0w-30 instead.

Looks like I'll be the first to cast a vote...
TRO is a great oil, but as you know the Series 2000 0w-30 (TSO) provides outstanding wear protection while holding the honors as being the most efficient oil in the AMSOIL line-up. I use TSO myself and believe it to be a better match for the Maxima engine than TRO is.

Have to agree with Talk -- if he won't use a 20W50 weight oil in Texas in the summer, you certainly don't want to use that weight in PA any time of year. IMHO, it is too thick for the VQ.
