I can't find any info on the MT transaxel filter.... is it internal requiring removal of the oil pan... is there one? I can't find anything on this, everyone is changing the oil but if there is a filter it should be done too obiously.... anyone know?

 

No Filter on the 5spd Manual Transmission. Just change the Trans Gear Oil with some Redline MT-90 and be done

I know of no filter on the 6-speed MT.

 

damn really?? I can't believe that there is absolutely no filter in that transaxel. Hmmm seems odd to me but ......

 

Unlike an auto-trannie, the manual trannie does not generate that much junk that it needs a filter. And when you drain the fluid, most of the metal shavings that are there come with the fluid -- which is why I like to warm up my manual trannie before I drain the fluid.

Very true. Additionally, there are no valves or tiny passages in a manual trans to get clogged with any small debris.

 

^^^^ Very true -- and important. Just warm up the fluid in your manual trannie before draining it, and this debris will largely come out with the fluid.
