Octane booster and fuel injecter cleaner

Just curious to know if anyone has ever tried these and do they actually work?

Ya they do work, if your using the better brands. Personally I go for a brand called ZMAX, get both the fuel formula and oil formula, they not only increase your gas mileage, but they also clean your engine. You can find ZMAX at most auto supply stores.

octane booster if it is LUCAS is goooood! It is street illegal though. For the injector cleaner LUCAS is good, so is Techron. Also there is one from Redline that is supposed to be good.
these are the only once I would use

octane booster does nothing for your gas.
FI cleaner...Techron, redline.

you want to UP the octane then read up on toulene mixed in gas.

also on a stock car (no turbo, sc, nitrous) extra octane is a waste.

I've not had any life changing experiences w/ Techron FI cleaner, although I do use it and I hope it is actually doing something effectively.

However, I had AWESOME change in my van when I had an injector(s) act up and then it ran so rotten it was like it had 4 cylinders instead of 6 working. I used BG44K and it cleared it right up. Not that another good brand would have worked, but I wanted to take of it on the first try and not spend a bunch of money on injector replacement and had heard the stuff was very effective. It did the job. I know for a fact that that stuff works, but I've heard that one should use it sparingly and not regularly. It worked for me and solved my problem. If I have a problem like that again, I'll know the Techron does not "likely" work well, or at all, and would prob stop using it and just use the BG44K if I indeed had a big issue like that again.

For now, I keep using the Techron. No issues.

My $0.02.

I can't speak to the quality of Redline FIC, but all of the other points above are right on the money -- especially the last point. The VQ engine is designed to burn 91 Octane premium gasoline. Unless you have mods or serious engine problems, any higher octane will not make any difference in performance.

I've been using Techron for years and would recommend it. I use it on both the car and moto.

Gumout Regane is also a good fuel injector cleaner at a reasonable price.

I thought it's stated in the manual to NOT use any fuel injector cleaners or octane boosters?

True, it does, but who reads the owners manual nowadays?

While this is true, I believe the reason for that statement is Nissan believes that the government mandated fuel-injector treatment level in commercial gasoline (yes, a minimum treatment level is mandated in gasoline) will be enough to keep the injectors clean.

History has shown that this is not the case. For most peoples' driving style, there is a need for additional cleaning -- from time to time -- to keep them clean and reduce engine deposits. I've had good luck using Chevron's Techron -- don't have any experience with the others, so can't comment on them. I stick with what has worked for me for over 20 years.
