thats 17.99 for 5 quarts of full synthetic and a mobil one filter.

Now you have to wonder what oreilly brand full synthetic is?

Well honestly who knows. It is sourced by omni brands, who normally use exxon mobile as their choice (ive seen omni branded oil in k mart)

My best bet is that its mobile one

its a steal. I went ahead on got three sets even though i only had one oil change to make.

I keep thinking i should get about three more. I dont think a sale like this is going to happen again. thats like 2$ a quart.

I've got some of this stuff in my oil stash. It's definitely NOT Mobil 1 I can tell you that much. Mobil 1 would never sell for $1.20 a quart. Also, Omni has stated that it uses Exxon/Mobil and SOPUS (Shell) base oils but with different add-packs. I saw a virgin analysis of O'reilly's Synthetic and it was DEFINITELY not Mobil 1. When I get around to using it, I'll probably treat it like a dino and stick to a 3750-5K OCI. The analysis wasn't spectacular. It appears to be a very average Group III product.

Well I had heard that napa full synth is the same as valvoline, and it went for 3$ a quart on sale at the same time as this.

Napa gets their oil from Ashland, the same company that produces Valvoline. I would be willing to bet that Napa Synthetic is not the same as Valvoline SynPower. While they might share similar/same Group III basestocks, Napa's oil has a much weaker additive package. For the most part, Napa = Carquest. I don't think Napa's synthetic is a bad product, but I wouldn't try any type of extended OCI with it. Personally, the only Valvoline product I like is MaxLife, but Valvoline seems to have a large following and I wouldn't hesitate to use Valvoline or Napa oils if I had them in my stash.
