radiator fluid

hello is it ok to just put water in my radiator on my 06 maxima or do i have to put antifreeze

In a pinch and as a temporary solution, water is fine. Try to use distilled water though.

But to do it right, it definitely needs antifreeze. Usually it's a 50/50 mix of water and antifreeze. Read your owner's manual, it will tell you.

as Wizard said, you can only use water in a pinch IE you ran out of coolant on the highway and need something asap. straight water isnt good for the engine and in the cold it will freeze and blow out your frost plugs

use 50/50 of coolant and distilled water. i usually go 70/30 coolant to water in winter from driving in -40c and lower

drain the coolant from the radiator, remove one of the heater core hoses going to the firewall, blast water through the heater core hose, that will flush it out. afterwards, add straight coolant to the system because straight water will already be in from flushing it. after it runs and circulates for a while test the strength to make sure its okay
