alternator. or something else?

At first my battery kept going dead. (I kept getting jumps) Then I bought a battery at walmart. Then a week later that battery kept going dead. So I bought a new alternator. Had my friend put it in. The old battery (the recent one I got at Walmart) was completely dead. Dude said the battery was fried. So I went to Walmart and they replaced it. I got the NEW battery . Now today my kept went dead yet again!?? Brand new battery brand alternator. Battery still going dead please help. I don't want to take it to a shop and get ripped. I'm a single mom . This is my only transportation

sounds like a parasitic drain, get a cheap test light, has to be incandescent bulb NOT LED

disconnect the negative battery terminal, wait 10 minutes for the PCM to go to sleep, clamp the test light to the negative battery terminal and press the probe of the test light to the now disconnected negative battery cable. if you have a drain, the test light will glow bright. remove fuses from your fuse panel one at a time, if you pull a fuse and the test light goes out or very dim thats the system you have a drain on

so for example you get to the radio fuse, pull it, and your test light goes dim. something on the radio circuit is causing a parasitic drain. if you have aftermarket electronics like a remote starter or aftermarket alarm, disabling those is usually the place to start
