Sure, definitely let me know. The way things are looking I may have to assemble a couple more...which takes me an hour or two tops. Feel free to shoot me an IM, I'm usually online and around a computer for most of the day.

Hey, djfresty, is it possible for you to send me a paypal invoice so I can pay by CC? If not, I'll just have to wait for the funds to transfer. Thanks.

***UPDATE***

I just received two bills from UPS. Apparently the size of the box (28x28x6) is larger than their allotted limit. They charged me an extra $80 for the ~8 or so boxes I've shipped. This equates to an extra $10 per box for shipping.

For the people that have already received their packages, don't worry, I'll eat that cost. For the FUTURE purchases (and there should only be a few of you), I'm going to request that you add an extra $5 for shipping.

It costs $10 more than expected, but since I quoted you something ($15), and now I find out it's more like $25, how about we come to a middle ground at $20?

I feel that this is fair for both of us. I hate to do this but I can't be continually eating costs. I hope you understand.

cliffs: due to large box, shipping will cost you $5 extra, totalling $20 instead of $15. All payments from NOW forward, please adjust accordingly.

I very strongly suggest creating a shelf like I have in my first picture. This board, although is much stronger than the previous OEM fiberboard, is only mounted with the one spare tire screw mount. That's a lot of surface area to be balanced by just that one screw in the middle.

Imagine flipping an orange construction cone upside down and balancing it on its pivot, then trying to have the square base hold up a heavy box. Although this is an extreme example, it's kind of the same principle.

My board works GREAT for groceries , but I dont want to see the recessed mounting box pop off under constant heavy pressure from a subwoofer box.
So DJ,

This board would not be able to handle the weight of a W7/ which with the box weighs in at about 95 lbs? I was planning on using L brackets to screw the sub down into your board. What if you were able to make the board a tad larger so it touches the wheel well so the weight would be more significantly distributed? I would love to get one of these. I dont have any wood working equipment so this is perfect for me. I am interested.

It probably will not be strong enough. This is because it is balanced in the middle, and weight on the sides would put stress on the middle joint. Make the shelf I suggested, it makes things much easier. I have a pic of it on the first post of the thread.

DJ, what does that shelf do? Im sorry i dont understand.Am I supposed to lift the sub onto the shelf? I dont see how the shelf would come in contact with the sub. I dont see how it straddles the board. I am trying to picture my sub in the car with this setup, But i can't see how it works. Sorry I feel like a dumbarse. Can you clarify please? Is the shelf bonded to the sheet metal? How does the carpet still remain flush If this shelf is there?

I already cleaned out my PayPal account, so I'm transferring more funds right now and will send you the $5. Do you think you could still ship mine out tomorrow?

The sub box sits on the shelf and does not interfere with the spare tire cover. I'll take a pic or two tonight.

Oh cool, thank you. Could you provide details on that little bench you made for your sub setup? I am putting in an enclosed 12" and it already sunk the cardboard in my trunk.

Zeead,

Your item is shipped. 1Z62992T0397744127 is the UPS tracking number. I estimate you should have it Wednesday.

MORE PICS!

Carpet installed with my sub box sitting on top of the shelf
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/27529338/Max...g/CIMG2435.JPG

Without carpet, sub box sitting on shelf
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/27529338/Max...28Small%29.JPG

As you can see, the spare tire cover is FULLY removable when the subs are in place, and they do not have to be disconnected, moved, or anything. When the carpet is installed, just lift up the carpet and roll it towards the sub box to access your spare!

Hope that clears up the use of the shelf...

Is it just two blocks of wood holding a longer piece? Did you just screw it into the actual floorboard of the car? Does your box just sit there on top or is it mounted somehow? Sorry about all the questions. I just don't know where to mount this thing.

Its 2 6 inch pieces of 2x4 screwed to the trunk floor, then a board screwed to it. I lay down the carpet, then lay the box on top of that, and screw the box to the shelf with screws that are long enough to go through the carpet to the shelf.
