Because first man invented the wheel,then horse and buggy
Then the car with stick shift
As Technology advanced the auto transmission was invented
they put it in the max .So I bought one, now my max has a fasted quarter time then your stick

because i didnt care what tranny my car had, as long as it was a maxima....but now im starting to regret my choice. this site has made me feel like owning an auto is a crime...you guys suck

Because....
I got the car as a "gift" but really that means I get to drive it until the lease is up then "we"
get to decide what to do about it: buy it?, think about getting a different car? Or run off to Mexico with a guilty concious? Muahaha....anyway I had no choice in the matter....so uh what's it matter?

So many people to respond to...
I can’t speak for everyone but for me –
1. At any level of power I am likely to reach a stick will be faster.
2. More control during spirited driving.
3. Feel like I am actually driving the car, not just along for the ride.
See #1 above.
How many N/A Auto’s are in the 14’s? (except those damn 2K2S

As a driving enthusiast I prefer a stick for the reasons I listed above. Most board members are probably driving enthusiasts also and I thought they would prefer a stick. As we can see from the poll very few auto owners really want one. More than half settled for an auto or changed their mind after they got it. Of those who want an auto most do only because of a lot of city driving.
OK I guess , replacing the word Auto with Civic works too.
