Toyota Celica GT4 "98 M'Reg

My cousin lives in Scottland and imported this car for 8000 pounds($100 U.S. = 61.58 pounds) It is a 1998 M'Reg. Toyots Celica GT4.
2.2L Twin Turbo
All wheel drive & steering
273HP@wheels
He says it runs about a 13.5 1/4 mile@117mph.
We're getting riped off in the U.S.when it comes to true import power

You probly don't really give a **** but thought some would like to look. I'll post later when it has been modified.

OT but what the hell, this car sounds interesting. Are you sure it's not a version of Toyota's older Celica All-Trac? Turbo 4 cylinder and all wheel drive, covered in ah.. interesting body style . I know for a fact that it didn't have 275 horsies stock though.

The Celica GT4 was what Toyota campaigned the WRC with. Toyota's equivalent to the WRX and the EVO. Same bodystyle as teh Celica's we see here.

Dang, for less than $13k - we ARE deprived.

Seems this version spanned quite a few Celicas lines. The older ones seems to be a similar version of the all-trac here. The lastest one is definately NOT in the usa. Rats!

I second that. I spent most of life in a country where friends of mine were driving 280 BHP WRX STi's and Evo VI's. These could be imported directly from Japan without any problem. A buddy of mine used to race a WRX STi that was the most modded car I've ever seen. He was pumping out over 400 BHP and you couldn't stand within 100 feet of it without earplugs because of its straight through exhausts.

I've learned to live without it since I moved to the U.S.

I gave up my 1991 TVR S3 before I moved to the US. It wasn't the fastest car in the world, but it only cost about $15k. It had a 2.9L V6 that pumped out 168hp and 275 ft/lbs and it only weighed 2060 lbs.
It sounded like this and looked like this.
