Post YOUR MPH when shifting at 4.5k RPM

just trying to get an idea of how fast some of u r vs others with different mods. I feel this would be a great way to see what mods do the most for the car and will make a believer out of others. Please list your mods after your times or if u have mods in your sig, that's all I need.

Unfortunately, if you drive a modded 4th gen or higher, u might now be able to easily do this unless you are freely on the highway but whenever u get a chance, i would appreciate it. I'm heading out to New York, so i'll hopefully have opportunities to do so and i'll post times later on.

Oh, I GUESS THIS ONLY APPLIES TO 5 and 6 SPEEDERS unless you know how to make your car change gears and still get the most out of it (i think letting go of the gas might tremendously slow down the car)

There's a 1/4 mile forum. And people list their times and mods in that already...

i meant every gear and although there is quarter mile time posted, I think it would be beneficial to see how people got to the time when hitting the quarter mile. This could work well in determining when is a good time to shift and how certain mods make certain gears faster than others.

Outside of hitting the rev limiter or having a MEVI or cams, the shift points don't change. The 6500, 6200, 6000, 5800rpm points are the same for all 5spd/6spd cars no matter the mods outside of the VI and cams. For the auto's the shift points are different, they are 6500, 6400, 6300rpm according to cartest.

Well, I *think* that maccanoble would like to know what the E.T. is when you reach a shift point of 4500 rpm. More HP will let you get up to a particular RPM more quickly, right?

But unless you have some probably expensive telemetry, you won't be able to determine that information, and even if you did, it's of questionable utility, IMO. Better info would be, what is your 0-60 time, 1/8 time, 1/4 time shifting at (4.5K, 5, 5.5, 6)

That too, might be better calculated with the aid of dyno charts, anyway. If the HP and/or Torque are dropping off after some particular RPM, that is probably close to the point where you should be shifting.

As long as you know your gear ratios, you can calculate what speed you would be going at any rpm, in any gear. The gear ratios for the 5 and 6sp trannys were posted somewhere, but I'm too lazy to search for it right now.

If an 02 6sp had the ponies, it could do 208mph at 6500 rpm in 6th

umm ... u might want to clarify what you are asking, bc it doesnt make sense. If your asking what peoples MPH are @ 4500rpm in any gear, that wouldnt change regardless of mods, speed in every gear is constant, just a matter of how fast u go through each gear. 100hp or 1000hp on the same transmission, 4500rpm in any given gear is same speed for either car, the 1000hp will just reach it a whole lot faster. If im not understanding ur question im sorry, but to me that seems like what u are asking.
