There's actually some very good info in there. I don't know if I'd go far as to call it a "bible". There are excerpts I've seen that kinda make you go, hmmm. and like everything that is written to that level, there are people who will take issue with some of the things said. Overall, it a good general book on the topic. If more people read it, Bill wouldn't be banging his head as much

It's ok for basic info. I find it a bit too theoretical and not based enough in the real world. Some of the oil rankings he has I HIGHLY question, especially the Castrol Group III basestock Syntec over Mobil 1. His contentions don't seem to be based on how oil holds up in real live automobiles, but rather in a lab.
That's the issue with Consumer Reports oil test. It did everything to avoid illustrating the benefits of synthetics or even different conventional oils. They took one situation/test and made all sorts of ridiculous and ignorant blanket assessments.
I think I'll just write a book called "Changing your oil in the real world".![Smilie](https://maxima.org/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Oh, and search is your friend:![Big Grin](https://maxima.org/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
